The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) developed an AI-powered Gestational Age Estimation tool using the Butterfly platform, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. UNC’s AI algorithm automatically calculates fetal gestational age from a set of simple abdominal sweeps with the Butterfly iQ+ probe–driving more accurate prenatal testing.
