The Butterfly iQ must be cleaned and disinfected after each use, as described in the Maintenance section of the Butterfly iQ User Manual -- Butterfly iQ Guide.
To disinfect items potentially exposed to SARS-CoV-2, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using products with EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims, which are expected to be effective against COVID-19 based on data for harder to kill viruses(1)(2). Of these products, Butterfly has identified the following as compatible with the Butterfly iQ probe and cable. Butterfly has not validated their biological effectiveness. For the biological effectiveness of a disinfectant, see the guidelines and recommendations of the disinfectant manufacturer, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
You may also use products not specifically listed in the compatibility table but with similar active ingredients, as indicated in this list, and marketed for medical use.
